13 dogs seized during planned Garda raid on house in county Kilkenny

Gardai seized 13 dogs after they raided a house in county Kilkenny earlier today.

The raid took place at a private property in Urlingford and involved officers from Kilkenny, Castlecomer and Urlingford Garda stations.

The gardai were also assisted by members of KSPCA, the local council and a vet.

A local Garda spokesperson said: “Gardaí from Unit B & C of Kilkenny Garda Station and assisted by their colleagues from the DDU, Urlingford and Castlecomer carried out a planned search under the Animal Health and Welfare Act 2013 in Urlingford today. A total of 13 dogs were surrendered following the search of a private house.

“An investigation is currently underway and the animals are now being fostered by Cara Rescue Dogs and Protecting Pound Dogs. These animals are all to be rehomed in the future.”
