266 new homes, offices, retail units, créche, nursing home – green light for massive development in Kilkenny
A massive development consisting of homes, offices, shops, a nursing home and a creche is planned for Kilkenny city.
An application has been lodged with Kilkenny County Council to build the huge development on Daly’s Hill in Kilkenny over the next ten years.
The developers, Daly’s Hill Limited, are looking to build accommodation for over 800 people across 266 unit. They plan to build 133 houses – 17 four-bed houses, 106 three-bed homes and ten two-bed houses. A further 133 apartments will be built as part of the development, consisting of 46 one-bedroom apartments, 77 two-bed apartments and 10 three-bed apartments.
Plans for a 126-bed nursing home on the site have been submitted as part of the application, along with proposals for a creche and two large commercial/retail units.
Two large office blocks, covering over 38,000 square feet between them, are also requested as part of the development.
Access to the site will be from a roundabout due to be built as part of the proposed new Western Environs Road and would see the construction of a new bridge over the Breagagh River.
