Some 800 homeowners in Kilkenny city and county will see their property tax bills rise under the new system of evaluating home values.
However, around 300 local homeowners will enjoy a reduction in their annual property tax bill, according to a new survey carried out by the Irish Independent.
The survey reveals thousands of homeowners across the country are caught in a so-called ‘property tax trap’ which will result in them forking out higher bills after new Revenue evaluations, which comes as part of the biggest shake-up of the home levy in eight years.
