Kilkenny and ‘Sunny South East’ to get best of more unsettled weather this week
WE’LL finally see glimpses of Summer over the coming days, but the unsettled conditions we’ve endured in recent weeks are set to continue, with frequent showers and unseasonably cool temperatures at times.
In its latest forecast, Met Éireann said the outlook for the week ahead is for more unsettled, showery conditions, but there will some sunny periods and milder weather in the middle of the week, before things take a turn for the more chilly afterwards.
On a positive note, Kilkenny and the South East will see the best of the weather this week, according the national forecaster.
This morning will begin brightly, with sunny spells across the county and highest temperatures of between 15 to 18 degrees.
The forecast for tomorrow is very positive, with bright, sunny conditions throughout the day. The east and south of the country will escape the heavy showers that are set to drench parts of Connacht and Ulster, with temperatures rising to up to a positively balmy 19 degrees.
Kilkenny and the South East will also escape the worst of the conditions on Wednesday, with prolonged, heavy showers set to batter the north and northwest. Some scattered showers are expected in these parts, but they will be interspersed with “good sunny spells”, according to Met Éireann.
Temperatures are set to cool again on Thursday, with “afternoon highs ranging from 13 to 16 or 17 degrees Celsius, highest in the south and east”.
Friday will be dry with sunny spells, with the South East again expected to escape the showers forecast for northern parts of the country.
