TRAFFIC CHAOS: Overturned lorry blocks Kilkenny motorway as car bursts into flames
By COLIN BARTLEY
The incidents in Grannagh and Johnstown saw the emergency services closing down parts of the road for a time.
In the first incident, a lorry overturned at a roundabout approaching the M9 in Grannagh, just before 10 am.
The roundabout was closed for a time as emergency services dealt with the accident. Four fire tenders and an ambulance attended the scene, and the fire brigade had to douse the scene in foam to prevent a possible fire starting from spilled fuel.
There were no serious injuries reported and the emergency services managed to remove the truck to the side of the road just after midday. There are still delays on the N24 approaching from Mooncoin and on the N9 from Waterford.
In a second incident, a car burst into flames on a road approaching Johnstown, earlier today.
The fire brigade was called to the incident near Crosspatrick and the road closed off for a time this morning. The fire has been put out and the road re-opened.

Geraldine Comiskey says:
Was it an electric car? It important to find out, as these cars can reignite more than a week later and firefighters need specialist training to deal with them.
