Burglar broke into Kilkenny home as owners slept and stole wallet

A burglar crept into a home in Kilkenny while the owners slept and went through their private belongings.

The break-in occurred at a house in The Paddocks on Kells Road in Kilkenny city between 12.30am and 8am on Saturday morning.

The homeowner awoke in the morning to discover the light on in the kitchen and the curtain on the patio door pulled back.

His wallet had been taken from his jacket, which was hanging on the back of a kitchen chair.

Gardai are investigating the break-in. They have urged witnesses or anyone who may have noticed any suspicious activity in the Kells Road area at the time to contact Kilkenny Garda Station on 056 777 5000.
