BREAKING: Kilkenny’s notorious ‘road of death’ closed after two-car collision
The so called ‘road of death’ outside Piltown was temporarily closed after a two-car collision this morning.
The crash occurred near the flyover outside the county Kilkenny village on the N24 at around 10.30am this morning.
The stretch of road is a notroious accident blackspot that has been the scene of several fatal collisions.
Two cars were involved in the collision, but it appears noone was seriously injured.
It is understood one vehicle was struck as it attempted to pull out onto the main road, leaving both cars strewn across the road.
The emergency services arrived at the scene a short time later and the road was temporarily closed off two traffic both ways as diversions were put in place.
The road has since reopened.
