Wolfwalkers exhibition at Kilkenny’s Butler Gallery is virtually unmissable
It’s lockdown and there is not a lot anyone can do, but people in Kilkenny can count themselves lucky as there is one truly extraordinary exhibition that is still going ahead online.
The Butler Gallery is hosting an innovative online exhibition on what is bound to be the Kilkenny success story of 2021, Cartoon Saloon’s latest animated feature ‘Wolfwalkers’.
The film had already drawn the wonder of critics and viewers alike, with Wolfwalkers already receiving award after award and getting highest ratings when it comes to reviews.
The exhibition, designed by Steven McNamara of Roji, includes drawings and backgrounds used in the film, virtual walking and drawing tours, as well as online talks.
The story of Wolfwalkers is centered in medieval Kilkenny in 1650 where a hunter is sent to Ossary to wipe out the last pack of wolves in Ireland, and the bond created between the hunter’s daughter and shapeshifting native girl Mebh.
