LATEST: Kilkenny among 829 new cases of virus as six further deaths confirmed

A further six people have died after contracting the coronavirus as 829 new cases of Covid-19 were confirmed.

The overall death toll as a result of the virus has now reached 3,687. There have now been 204,397 confirmed cases of Covid-19 across the country, according to the latest daily briefing from the National Public Health Emergency Team (NPHET).

The breakdown of the latest cases is as follows: 386 in Dublin, 39 in Meath, 36 in Cork, 35 in Kildare, 32 in Louth and the remaining 301 cases are spread across 20 other counties, including 14 further infections in Kilkenny.

As of February 5, 230,776 people have received a COVID-19 vaccine. 151,212 people have received their first dose, while 79,554 people have received their second dose.
