Talented Kilkenny musician releases first single after 15 year touring the world
A Kilkenny musician who has spent the last 15 years touring the world playing in some of the most famous music venues going is finally getting to release her first single.
Ali Comerford’s debut single, ‘He Knows’ will be released next week.
Born and raised in Kilkenny, the talented singer and multi-instrumentalist started playing and studying classical music at the tender age of four.
After obtaining a Masters of Violin Performance from London’s Royal College of Music, Ali relocated to New York, completing a Masters of Music in Viola Performance at the Manhattan School of Music on scholarship.
Ali has graced some of the world’s most prestigious stages, including New York’s Carnegie Hall, The Royal Albert Hall in London and Dublin’s National Concert Hall. She has toured the world with Lincoln Center Stage, playing sold out shows around Australia, New Zealand and the United States.
After years as a freelance musician for various string ensembles and chamber orchestras in New York, Ali returned home to her native Jenkinstown in January 2020 and began working on her debut album, which is due to be released this summer.
Her long-awaited single, ‘He Knows’, will be available to buy from next Thursday, March 4.
Ali says her debut release is “a lilting song about leaving an unfulfilling relationship, the ups and downs of seeking support elsewhere and the resignation that the truth will always come out”.
