An Bord Pleanála defers mosque decision again

AN Bord Pleanála has again deferred its ruling on the proposed mosque in Kilkenny.

The planning authority was due to make its ruling on Monday.

However An Bord Pleanála this evening confirmed to KilkennyNow.ie that “the board won’t be making a decision” on the development this week.

The planning authority could not say when its ruling would be delivered.

A spokesperson told KilkennyNow.ie: “No date has been set, we hope an announcement will be made within the next couple of weeks.”

An Bord Pleanála was originally due to deliver its verdict on the development in the first week of March.

Three separate appeals to the mosque plans were lodged to An Bord Pleanála after Kilkenny County Council granted planning permission to the development last year.
