A Covid solution to a CAO problem WIT to host final Zoom change of mind session for Kilkenny students
With the college change of mind deadline ZOOMing into view, Waterford Institute of Technology is hosting a virtual drop-in day to help potential students with their last minute decisions.
The CAO change of mind deadline is next Wednesday, July 1, so with just a week to go WIT is running an online Zoom event this Thursday, June 25 for CAO applicants and their parents.
The virtual event will help potential student learn more about WIT courses, college life and what to expect as student at WIT. It is being hosted by Claire Holden and John Power, Schools’ Liaison Officers, and assisted by faculty staff.
John Power says WIT staff will be on-hand to answer any remaining niggling queries students may have.
“Do you need help with your CAO application? Are you confused about CAO order of preference? Do you need to know more about career opportunities? Our advice is sign up for the Zoom event, get involved, ask questions and make sure you are making an informed choice before the CAO Change of Mind deadline,” John said.
WIT has set up a dedicated website www.wit.ie/cao, with a number of supports for the CAO applicants, with web chats and virtual tours available.
The talk on 25 June is the final of a series of more than 20 virtual talks (via Zoom) focusing on specific courses and discipline areas hosted by academic staff and the outreach team.
“Our ‘College, Courses and CAO choices’ is an interactive one-hour video chat,” John said, “designed to give CAO applicants and their parents the opportunity to ask those all important questions before the CAO Change of Mind deadline.
“In addition to the outreach team representatives from fees, accommodation, and student life and learning will be online with us,” John concluded.
