Man defied barring order then brutally assaulted his ex-partner in Kilkenny

A MAN ignored a barring order and viciously assaulted his former partner in Kilkenny.
Kilkenny gardai were called to intervene in a domestic violence incident at Wetlands on Saturday evening.
Local gardai received a call from a distressed female who said she had been assaulted by the 42-year-old man.
Gardaí arrived at the scene a short time later and arrested the suspect for being in breach of a barring order.
He was taken to Kilkenny Garda Station and subsequently charged. He is due to appear in Kilkenny District Court in relation to the assault.
