Back to education – local colleges offering free and part-time courses

THE INSTITUTE of Technology, Carlow and Waterford Institute of Technology are both holding open days over the next couple of days aimed at Kilkenny people who want to go back into education.

The Government backed Springboard programme offers free courses, while the colleges will promote their part-time courses, both designed to lead to qualifications that are in demand among employers.

This evening, IT Carlow holds its open night, while WIT opens their doors to possible applicants tomorrow night. Both run between 6 pm and 8 pm.

The Open Nights will give prospective students a chance to find out more about campus life and speak to admissions staff about the Springboard application process. Prospective students will have an opportunity to meet with the academic staff and lecturers from both colleges who will answer all course queries.
