‘Biden wins’ – US networks declare winner but Trump refuses to accept defeat

CNN has called the US Presidential election and said Joe Biden will become the 46th president of the United States.

It come after Biden was declared the winner in the state of Pennsylvania’s 20 electoral votes, giving him a total of 273 electoral votes, three more than the required number to be elected president.

However, the incumbent Donald Trump is refusing to accept defeat and is due to give another press conference where he is expected to again make allegations of voter fraud, which he has so far failed to provide any evidence of.

Trump tweeted earlier: “I WON THIS ELECTION, BY A LOT!’

Before becoming the Democratic presidential nominee, Biden served as vice president under former President Barack Obama. He is also Delaware’s longest-serving senator.

Throughout his campaign, Biden has argued that the “soul of the nation” is at stake, and has promised that he would seek to heal a country fractured by Trump’s presidency.
