Big boost for two Kilkenny communities as part of new Covid safety funding
Funding of €77,000 has been allocated to a local school and creche, along with a Church and hall as part of a new scheme to provide safe access to community facilities.
It is part of a €4.1 million national package announced today as part of the CLÁR programme.
In Kilkenny, Muckalee Community Creche, St Brendan’s National School and Muckalee Parish Committee have been awarded €50,000 to complete the car park and associated works. A further €27,000 has been allocated to Coolagh Church and Community Hall for safety measures and access improvements.
Welcoming the funding, Kilkenny TD John Paul Phelan said: “The 2020 CLÁR programme places a particular focus on supporting communities to deal with the impact of Covid-19 and meeting the needs of communities in these challenging times.”
