LATEST: Kilkenny among 767 new cases of virus as two further deaths confirmed

Two more people have died after contracting the coronavirus as 767 new cases of Covid-19 were confirmed this evening.

It brings the overall death toll from the virus to 1,917. There are now 62,750 confirmed cases of Covid-19 across the country, according to the latest daily briefing from the National Public Health Emergency Team (NPHET).

The breakdown of the latest cases are as follows: 321 are in Dublin, 84 in Cork, 47 in Meath, 34 in Limerick, 24 in Roscommon and the remaining 257 cases are spread across all other counties, including 18 new infections in Kilkenny.

Meanwhile, the number of people currently being treated for the virus in ICU is 44, down three from yesterday.
