‘Bring a friend’ – special parkrun in Kilkenny Castle to mark World Cancer Day

RUNNERS of all shapes, sizes and ages will take place in a special parkrun at Kilkenny Castle on Saturday to mark World Cancer Day.

Participants are being urged to “bring a friend” to reduce risk of cancer and highlight the health benefits exercise can bring in preventing the disease.

Kilkenny County Council said: “Exercise can reduce your risk of developing cancer, improves quality of life during and after cancer treatment and can help people living with and beyond cancer to return to health and achieve a sense of well-being.

“Move your way: walk, jog, run, cheer or volunteer at a local parkrun and bring a friend on February 2 for #worldcancerday #loveparkrun.”
