Burglar breaks into sacristy at county Kilkenny parish church moments after mass

KILKENNY gardai are investing an attempted burglary at the parish church in Johnstown.
The incident occurred at 11am just after mass on Saturday, gardai confirmed to KilkennyNow.ie.
It is understood an unknown male approached the Parish Priest, Fr Frank Maher, just after mass and asked for directions to a toilet.
It was later discovered the thief had broken into the sacristy in an apparent search for valuables. Drawers had been flung open and some items disturbed but gardai said it does not appear anything of value was taken.
