Vandals desecrate Kilkenny church

Gardai are on the hunt for vandals who caused damage to a church in county Kilkenny over the weekend.

The incident occurred at the Church of the Assumption in Paulstown on Saturday afternoon.

A local Garda source said vandals entered the church sometime between 9am and 5.45pm. They broke a speaker in the gallery and poured water all over a candelabra and an altar cloth.

Witnesses or anyone who may have noticed any suspicious activity in the area at the time is asked to contact Goresbridge Garda Station on 059 977 5202.
