County Kilkenny school unveils major new expansion plans

A school in a small county Kilkenny town has unveiled new expansion plans after it applied for permission to build three new classrooms.

The Board of Management at Stoneyford National School recently lodged the plans with Kilkenny County Council.

Under the plans, an existing 110sqm prefab on the grounds of the school would be demolished to make way for the new classrooms.

The 285 sqm extension will add 50% more space to the existing permanent school and bring the total building size up to 855sqm.

The mixed gender school currently caters for 110 students.
