County Kilkenny woman awakes to a frightening discovery
A COUNTY Kilkenny woman was left shaken after she woke to find a burglar had tried to gain entry to her home.
The attempted break-in occurred in the Raheen area of Dunnamaggin.
The homeowner got out of her bed and went downstairs to discover that one of her windows was open. A number of items had been knocked off the window sill.
Kilkenny gardai confirmed the downstairs window of the home in the Raheen had been forced open. However nothing was stolen, which suggests the culprits did not manage to gain entry to the house.
Gardai have urged anyone who may have seen any suspicious activity between 10pm on Monday, May 13 and 9am the following morning to contact Thomastown Garda Station on 056 775 4150.
