Criminal gang break into building site in Kilkenny city overnight, hardware stolen
GARDAI are hunting for a criminal gang who broke into a building site in Kilkenny city overnight and made off some valuable hardware.
The robbery occurred at a building yard compound in the Green’s Bridge area of the city sometime in the early hours of Wednesday morning.
It is not known how the gang gained entry to the site.
The alarm was raised after workers arrived at the site at 7.30am on Wednesday.
A rock breaker worth €4,000 was stolen.
A Garda spokesman told KilkennyNow.ie it is likely the criminals would have required a vehicle to getaway unnoticed with the heavy stolen item.
Gardai are appealing for anyone who may have witnessed any suspicious activity in the area at the time to contact Kilkenny Garda Station on 056 777 5000.
