Cutting their losses: Burglar flees after carefully removing glass from window of Kilkenny home in bizarre break-in attempt

A burglar went to the effort of carefully cutting glass out of the window of a Kilkenny house in an effort gain entry before, it appears, eventually deciding against it.

The bizarre breakpt occurred at a house in Coolgrange on the Grange Road in Kilkenny between 7pm and 8pm last Tuesday, June 2.

The homeowner discovered a piece of glass had been cut from a window at the front of the house, but there was no evidence of any entry into the property and it was reported nothing was taken during the strange event.

An investigation has been launched into the matter and gardai are asking anyone who may have noticed any suspicious activity in the Coolgrange area at that time, or who may have information on the attempted burglary, to contact Kilkenny Garda Station on 056 777 5000.
