‘Enjoy it while it lasts’ – more sun today, but weather set to turn again
MET Éireann has some good news for us poor souls trudging back to work this morning after a beautiful, summery Easter bank holiday weekend.
Today is set to be another bright, hazy day, with temperatures in Kilkenny and parts of Leinster rising to high as 21C. But an onshore breeze will result in considerably cooler temperatures of up to just 15C in our neighbouring coastal counties.
Met Éireann said: “Tuesday is set to be another good day across most of Ireland, with temperatures varying between 17 and 21 degrees. Some showers are expected in southern and western areas in the morning, but these are expected to pass by afternoon.”
However, the unseasonably good weather is set to take a turn for the worst from tomorrow.
Met Éireann warned: “Rain will fall over much of the country and temperatures drop to standard April value of 13-17 degrees as a cold front moves up from the south. Thursday will remain showery, with longer spells of rain also forecast.”
Or as local weather guru, Alan O’Reilly of Carlow Weather, succinctly put it last night: “Enjoy tomorrow as it is all downhill rapidly from tomorrow night, cooler and wet and windy at times.”
