Even a superhero couldn’t save Kilkenny in Croke Park yesterday …
By COLIN BARTLEY
THERE were more heroes than those in purple and gold hanging around Croke Park yesterday afternoon. Literally.
Another superhero’s spidey-senses may have got whiff of Kilkenny’s impending and ultimate demise yesterday, but alas didn’t hang around to save the day for the Cats.
Eagle-eyed fans at GAA headquarters may have noticed a shadowy figure lurking in the rafters of Croke Park during the game.
Spiderman, the building swinging spinner of silk, was visible for quite a period of the game, hanging out and waving down to fans from his perch in the corner between the Davin and Cusack stands.
It is believed the semi-radoicative superhero was there to promote his new action film – Spiderman: Far from Home and not hired by the GAA to repair the net after a rocket of a shot from TJ or Adrian Mullen.
Or so we are led to believe.
