Kilkenny builder killed in aircraft tragedy will be buried this week
THE well-known builder and businessman who died in the fatal light aircraft crash near his county Kilkenny home will be buried on Thursday.
Richard ‘Dick’ O’Connell, who was in his 50s, died from his injuries after his aircraft crashed in a field close to his home at Rathcash, Clifden, at around 9pm last Friday night.
A post-mortem examination on his remains was carried out at University Hospital Waterford (UHW) over the weekend.
Now details of his funeral arrangements have been released.
The father-of-three’s remains will repose at his home on Wednesday from 4pm to 8pm, with Rosary at 6pm.
The house will remain private for family members until 4pm on Wednesday.
Requiem Mass will be said at 11am on Thursday morning at St Colman’s Church, Clara, with burial afterwards in the adjoining cemetery.
