Father of four (30) appears in court in relation to firework attack on gardai at lockdown protest
A 30-year-old father of four has appeared in court in relation to a firework attack on Gardai during an anti-lockdown demonstration in Dublin last weekend.
Jake Merriman of Meadowlands Avenue, Monkstown in Dublin appeared in court this morning.
He is accused of being in possession of an eight cannon firework and firing it at gardai at Grafton Street on Saturday afternoon last.
He is also accused of being in possession of missiles and bottles, and of firing them at gardai. He faces five charges.
The case has been adjourned so a bail application can be heard. Mr Merriman has been granted free legal aid.
