First Darkness into Light walk in Inistioge raises €13,327 for charity
THE brave volunteers who rose at dawn to walk from Darkness into Light in Inistioge recently raised over €13,000 for Pieta House, the suicide and mental health awareness charity.
It was the first Darkness into Light walk in the picturesque South Kilkenny village, and it was such a success that organisers are already planning for next year’s event.
Members of the Darkness into Light Inistioge committee recently presented a cheque for €13,327 to Sinead Ronan Wells of Pieta House.
The committee said: “Thanks again to all the people that participated, the sponsors, all who donated money and finally to everyone who helped in any way to make this such a successful event. Roll on 2020.”
