From Lyrath to the Istrian Riviera: Kilkenny hotel’s Easter package named in ‘Top 5’ best value list

KILKENNY’S Lyrath Estate features alongside Paris, Greece, the Istrian Riviera and a luxury Portuguese cruise in a new list of the top five best travel packages on offer in the country this week.

Leading travel writer Pól Ó Conghaile said the Lyrath has “oodles of activities over the Easter holiday”, nothing that an impressive €5 million refurb of the hotel was completed last year.

The Lyrath’s Easter packages include two-nights B&B and one dinner from €190pp.

The luxurious Kilkenny country house hotel is the only Irish destination included in the ‘Top 5’ best value travel offers.

The others include a seven-night package to Hakidiki in Greece, including flights and accommodation at a four-star hotel from €392pp, and a seven-night break on Croatia’s Istrian Riviera from €499pp.

Also on the list is a two-night trip to Paris for Ireland’s Six Nations clash against France next year, including match tickets, from €599pp and a luxury river cruise on the Duoro in Portugal, starting at €2,219.
