Five years in the making: work finally gets underway on county Kilkenny community park
By COLIN BARTLEY
WORK is set to begin on a Kilkenny community park that has been five years in the making.
The sod will finally be turned on the Ferrybank Neighbourhood Park this week.
The €350,000 park will create a much needed central amenity facility for the Ferrybank area including a children’s playground, walking route, teenager meeting point, and playing pitch.
Tom Beckett Landscaping Limited has been awarded the contract to build the facility and work is expected to last four months.
Kilkenny TD, Minister of State and local resident John Paul Phelan will be on hand to put the first shovel in the ground at the sod-turning ceremony.
