Garda appeal after man was abducted from his home
Gardaí are appealing for witnesses after a man was assaulted and abducted in Cork in the early hours of Sunday morning.
The man, who is in his 20s, was assaulted and then abducted from his home in Maryborough Hill in the Douglas area of the city at around 2.30am.
He was bundled into a vehicle but managed to escape when it crashed at Curraheen Park in Bishopstown.
Gardaí attended the scene and brought the injured man to Cork University Hospital where he was treated for non-life threatening injuries.
Gardaí issued an appeal to anyone who was travelling in the Maryborough Hill or Curraheen Park areas around the time of the incident to come forward. They would also like to hear from anyone who has video, such as dash-cam or helmet-cam, recorded in the area.
A garda spokesperson said: “Anyone with information is asked to contact Togher Garda Station on 021-494-7120, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800-666-111, or any garda station.”
