Gardai probe alleged petrol bomb attack on house in Castlecomer
GARDAI are investigating an alleged attempted petrol bomb attack on a house in Castlecomer.
The incident occurred at a house in the Love Lane area of the town at around 5.45pm last Friday, December 7.
A Garda spokesperson told KilkennyNow.ie: “A male was seen throwing an object at a window and kicking the front door. The suspect left the scene on foot, investigations are ongoing.”
It is understood the object thrown at the house was a bottle containing a soaked rag.
Evidence was collected from the scene of the incident.
A 34-year-old male was subsequently arrested and detained at Kilkenny Garda Station. He was subsequently released without charge.
A file on the matter is being prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP).
