Gardai release man being questioned about Carrick-on-Suir stabbing without charge

The person being questioned in relation to the death of a 45-year-old Lithuanian man following a stabbing incident in Carrick-on-Suir over the weekend has been released without charge.
“He was released from Clonmel Garda Station this afternoon and a file will now be prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions,” a statement from Gardai said and investigation are ongoing.
Alvydas Nekrosius (45) died in hospital in Waterford on Sunday morning after receiving a stab wound in an incident at an apartment complex on Carrick-on-Suir’s North Quays at 11.30pm on Saturday night.
Locals have been reporting that Mr Nekrosius was able to walk out of the apartment block to a waiting ambulance under his own strength, but his condition deteriorated. He died hours later in University Hospital Waterford.
