Gardai seek man who helped teen girls in wake of horror sex attacks

BY COLIN BARTLEY
GARDAI are looking to track down a man who may have vital information regarding the alleged sexual assault carried out on teenage girls at a county Wexford beach recently.
The young men suspected of carrying out the alleged attacks have links to Kilkenny.
Gardai are now trying to find a man who is understood to have come to the assistance of the three girls after they were allegedly assaulted.
The alleged incident took place at Burrow in Courtown, Co Wexford around midnight on Sunday, July 28. Gardai believe five young men were involved in the attack on the three girls.
All three girls are from Dublin, and it is suspected that one of the girls, a 14-year-old, was raped. The girls were brought to Dublin and examined in a specialist sex assault unit.
Despite questioning a number of males, and carrying out a raid in Kilkenny last weekend, no arrests have been made in connections with the alleged triple sex attack, and the suspects remain at large.
Gardai interviewed a number of young males in both Waterford and Kilkenny in the days after the attack, and last weekend raided an address in county Kilkenny, but no arrests were made.
The gardai thanked all the members of the public who have come forward to date and renewed their appeal for anyone with information to contact Gorey Garda Station on 053 943 0690 or the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111.
