HOUSE prices in Kilkenny have shot up by €30,000 in the past year, new figures reveal.
The Central Statistics Office’s Residential Property Price Index for June 2019 published today reveals property prices in Kilkenny city and country are soaring as the local housing crisis deepens.
The report reveals the average price of buying a house in Kilkenny is now €220,000. That’s up a whopping €30,000 on the same time last year, when average prices in the city and were just €190,000.
House prices in South East rose by an average of just over 10% in the year to June, but this was propped up by the Kilkenny market, which rose by nearly 15%.
The report shows more houses are slowly becoming available on the market, with 1.3% more properties than the same period last year.
