Easter Sunday sizzler – Kilkenny to bask in temperatures of up to 22C

MET Éireann and weather experts have some very good news to start your Easter Sunday.

Yesterday’s glorious sunshine is set to continue today, with temperatures rising to up to 22C in parts of Kilkenny, Met Éireann has forecast.

So get out the sun cream and enjoy the unseasonably sunny weather, which will see mercury levels rising higher in Kilkenny than many popular Mediterranean hotspots, including Malaga, Athens and Barcelona.

The national forecaster said: “Largely dry today and warm again with spells of sunshine. However, fog may affect the south coast. Highest temperatures ranging from 18 to 22 degrees, but much cooler with only 14 or 15 degrees where fog lingers. Southerly winds will be light to moderate.”

Alan O’Reilly of Carlow Weather said today would be “another lovely day in Eastern area with hazy sunshine and temperatures of up to 22C”, but cooler out West which would have some “patchy drizzle at times”.

Tonight will be generally dry with clear spells, although fog may spread further inland overnight.

And the great weather is set to continue tomorrow, with Met Éireann predicting that temperatures will rise to between 18C and 22C in Kilkenny and throughout Leinster.
