Kilkenny bus attacks: Stone-throwing vandals smash window of moving coach

The window of another Kilkenny City Bus were smashed after coming under attack after dark.

It is the second time in the space of a week that the public transport service was targeted by strone-throwing vandals in the Hebron area of the city.

In the latest incident, the bus was approaching the Hebron Road Roundabout shortly before 7.30pm on Saturday evening when an unknown object struck the coach, resulting in serious damage to a window pane on its left hand side.

Fortunately there were no passengers on board at the time and the driver was not injured.

It is the fourth attack on buses travelling along the Hebron Road this year.

Another attack on a bus occurred in Larchfield back in January. So far there has been no serious injures as a result of the incidents, but services have been affected.

Potential witnesses or anyone with information about these incidents is urged to contact Kilkenny Garda Station on 056 777 5000.
