Kilkenny Cats hot favourites to return to hurling’s top table after win

Brian Cody’s Cats are hot favourites to get back where they belong at hurling’s top table after they overcome a spirited challenge from Antrim at Nowlan Park yesterday.

The Ulster side scored 2-4 in the opening eight minutes of the second half to draw level with the hosts, but Kilkenny prevailed by seven points to make it two wins from two at the start of their league campaign.

Bookies BoyleSports said: “They are hot 4/7 shots from 6/5 to top Division 1B, with Wexford backed into 13/8 second favourites from 7/2 after a last-gasp winning point from Rory O’Connor condemned Clare to a second successive defeat.”
