Kilkenny Chamber launches 2019 Best Business Awards
By COLIN BARTLEY
MORE than 50 people from Kilkenny’s business community attened the launch of Kilkenny Chamber Best Business Awards at Rothe House last night.
This year, to make the process of applying easier and more environmentally friendly, the Chamber has introduced a new online application process.
Closing date for nominations is September 18 and applications are being taken up until September 27. The nominations will be whittled down to just three businesses per category and those nominated will then be interviewed by the Chambers’ judges in October.
Last night’s launch was hosted by Chamber President Marion Acreman, who was joined by Cathal Smyth, Managing Director and Chief Administrative Officer at Statestreet Global Services Ireland, the main sponsor of the awards. The gathered guests heard from Julian Hughes, Managing Director of Hughes Farming Ltd, the overall winner of the 2018 Business Awards.
Chamber Chief Executive John Hurley told KilkennyNow.ie: “There was a great attendance, the biggest attendance we had at a launch in the last few years, which shows the interest in the awards.”
The winners will be announced at the Kilkenny Business Awards 2019 gala night which will take place in Lyrath Estate Hotel on Saturday, November 16.
Over 20 awards will be presented on the night, including the Lifetime Achievement, President’s Award and the overall Business of the Year Award.
