Kilkenny farmer becomes one with nature for sexy charity calendar
By COLIN BARTLEY
A KILKENNY farmer is getting back to nature in more way than one, by stripping down to what Mother Nature gave him for a risque calendar aiming to raise money for an overseas farming charity.
Kilkenny farmer Brian Alcorn has popped up in the Irish Farmers Calendar, 2020 – the annual tongue-in-cheek collection of topless Irish farmers anticipated by lovers of the land all over the world.
Mr October, Brian was happy to pose in a barn full of hay surrounded by a plethora of pumpkins, ripe just in time for Halloween.
This year the shoot for the calendar took place in Nore Valley Park Pet Farm in Kilkenny, as well as Corballis Farm, Donabate in Dublin and The Hazel House Craft Café and Pet Farm in Tibradden in Dublin.
It’s the 11th year the Irish Farmer Calendar has been published and this year a portion of the money raised by these calendars goes to the farming charity Bothar – which provides livestock to families in developing countries.
Apart from Brian, the 2020 calendar features farmers from Carlow, Dublin, Limerick, Tipperary, and Down.
The calendar has built up a fanbase at home, in the US, Europe, and as far away as Asia and they can be bought online at www.farmercalendar.com.
