Kilkenny gardai hunt thief who smashed car window and stole handbag in broad daylight

GARDAI are hunting for a thief who smashed the window of a parked car in broad daylight before making off with the owner’s handbag.

The theft occurred in the Ardra area of Castlecomer at around 2.30pm on Saturday.

The owner of the vehicle returned to her car to discover one of the windows had been smashed in and her handbag, which contained her mobile phone and a sum of cash, stolen.

Anyone who may have witnessed the theft or saw anyone acting suspiciously in the area at the time is urged to contact Castlecomer Garda Station on 056 444 1222.
