Kilkenny gardai investigating bizarre theft of a public bench
GARDAI are investigating the theft of a public bench in Thomastown.
The ‘Phoenix Park’ bench, which had its name inscribed on a small plaque, was stolen from the carpark on the quays of the South Kilkenny town last weekend.
A local Garda spokesperson told KilkennyNow.ie the theft occurred some time between last Saturday and Monday morning.
There is no CCTV in the area, and gardai are urging any potential witnesses or anyone who may have information regarding the theft to contact Thomastown Garda Station on 056 775 4150.
