ALERT: Three Kilkenny homes in same area hit by burglars in countdown to Christmas
Gardai are investigating if there is a link between a spate of burglaries that occured within a small area of county Kilkenny during the week.
The first two break-ins occured on Tuesday, December 3, between 1.30pm and 10pm.
In the first incident, on Station Road in Bennettsbridge, the homeowner arrived back from work at 8pm to find all the rooms in their home ransacked.
The burglars made their way into the house by forcing open a window at the back of the house. At the time of reporting the incident, the owner was unable to say if anything had been taken.
Another incident happened close by in Norelands in nearby Stoneyford the same day.
This time the burglars busted in the front door to gain access. Once again, the perpetrators ransacked the home. They managed to make off with expensive Canon camera equipment and a Festina watch.
A third burglar took place at a house in the centre of Stoneyford on Thursday. On this occasion, the burglars broke the window in the back door to gain access before making off with cash and jewellery.
Gardai have appealed to potential eyewitnesses or anyone who may have noticed any suspicious activity in these areas at the above times to contact Kilkenny Garda Station on 056 777 5000.
