Kilkenny homeowner shocked to discover house ransacked and burgled just week before Christmas

A county Kilkenny resident was left shocked after they returned home to discover their house was ransacked by burglars.

The break-in occurred at a house in the Fairgreen Estate in Fiddown on Wednesday sometime between 4.30pm and 8.30pm.

A local Garda source said the homeowner returned to find the patio door wide open and the house inside ransacked.

The burglars managed to make off with a sum of money.

Gardai have appealed to anyone who may have noticed any suspicious activity in the area at the time to contact Mooncoin Garda Station on 051 895 122.
