Kilkenny homes now most expensive in Leinster outside Dublin and commuter belt
Kilkenny is one of the most expensive parts of Leinster outside of the capital to buy a property, according to a new nationwide survey.
The newly-published Daft.ie Wealth Report says the average price of a home in Kilkenny now stands at €261,000, making it the fourth most expensive place in the province to live, behind the commuter counties of Wicklow (€333,000), Meath (€267,000) and Kildare (€264,000).
Unsurprisingly, the report confirms much of the country’s property wealth is concentrated in Dublin.
Dublin 6 is now officially the country’s most expensive post code, where average property prices are now at an eye-watering €628,000.
Buying a home in the leafy suburb of Mount Merrion on the southside of the capital will put you back an average of €777,000.
