Kilkenny hospital in ‘red zone’ as overcrowding crisis deepens
St Luke’s in Kilkenny is among 10 hospitals across the country that are now classed as being in the ‘red zone’ due to overcrowding.
The others on the overcrowding list include hospitals in Galway, Tullamore, Mayo, St Vincent’s in Dublin and Cork University Hospital.
Some 15 patients at the Kilkenny hospital were left waiting for beds on Friday, according to latest ‘trolley watch’ figures compiled by the Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation (INMO).
