Kilkenny house ransacked in countdown to Christmas, all for some ‘loose change’

A burglar broke into a house in county Kilkenny and ransacked the property before making off with some “loose change”.

The break-in occurred at the house in Mallardstown, Callan on Friday.

A Garda spokesperson confirmed the thief gained entry to the house via a window at the back of the property.

The spokesperson added: “Entry was gained and all rooms in the house were ransacked. A quantity of loose change was taken.”

Gardaí in Callan have appealed for witnesses or anyone who may have noticed any suspicious activity in thje area at the time to contact the local station.
