Kilkenny gardai impound car after driver caught with no tax, NCT and ‘lethal tyres’

A local motorist had his car impounded after he was caught driving without tax, NCT and with what gardai described as “one of the worst examples of a lethal tyre we’ve come across”.

The tax on the car had expired more than two years ago.

A local Garda spokesperson confirmed: “The driver of this car was on his way to work this morning when we came accross him.

“The vehicle was impounded under Section 41 of the Road Traffic Act and the driver will receive several fixed charge notices and penalty points.”
