‘It could be your funeral’ – Kilkenny gardai warn motorists clocked speeding in rain
KILKENNY gardai have urged motorists in the city to slow down after several drivers were caught speeding in 50km/h zones.
Several drivers were stopped, fined and handed penalty points this week after they were clocked well over the speeding limit.
Some were speeding in very wet conditions, adding to the danger posed to the members of the public and to the motorists themselves.
One speeding motorists told gardai he was “going to a funeral”.
But Kilkenny gardai warned on social media: “Road conditions were wet. If he doesn’t slow down it could be his own. FCPN [Fixed Charge Penalty Notice] issued.”
